Working For Chairty

From Cleveland, Ohio
- I was in the business for 16 years. Working as a manager, I saw one of my
waiters running through the dining room and out the front
door. I followed, wondering what was the matter. He came
up to one of his customers who had just left and said,"Here,
take this, you obviously need it more than me"...and handed
back his tip. Obviously, the customer had left him a lousy
tip. Although I had to reprimand him for treating the
customer like that, I could hardly keep from cheering. To
this day, that is one of my favorite memories.
